Twizzlers WIN!!!

When UPS came and left a huge box, I was a bit stumped as I haven't ordered anything. Well, it was my big win from Twizzlers Summer of Fun! We had so much fun opening up the package.
I've been looking for a new fancy schmancy bag. Look no further since my new one says Twizzlers on the side!
New sunglasses to boot! They remind me of my cool red ones from 7th grade that I decorated with white spots.
So much cool stuff! Thank you Twizzlers!

The shovel and bucket are really neat-o. The shovel is so cool and has a weird ergonomic feel to it that really makes it keen.
Gosh, I feel like Gidget!

best breakfast

Renée and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast from the garden this morning. Our yellow plum tomatoes are coming in small batches. Paired with a few fresh basil leaves and they were yummy. Picking the yellow ones wasn't enough for her, so she proceeded to go behind my back fast as a flash and get a few green ones from other plants. I'll be surprised if we have any red ones to enjoy as quick as she is! Each green tomato has a cute little baby bite out of it. How she ate it is beyond me.
The yellow plum is covered in horn worms. Many of them have wasps emerging from cocoons so I left them, but the largest worm of the season was picked off to find his way amongst the sunflowers in the ditch. Where's Grant when you need him? :-)

Mockingbird Nest

Phoebe and I found a mockingbird nest while trimming our trees/over-sized-bushes. That put a stop to all the trimming, but we enjoyed the growing birds. When we found the nest, one bird was just breaking its egg in half. We visited the nest daily for short videos to record their growth. It took 10 days for them to hatch and leave the nest. Amazingly fast!

Rice Cat

Mel in Florida made a rice box for her son instead of a sandbox. Brilliance on her part! Last month, Rita visited and brought 100 lbs of jasmine rice straight from Hoppe farm for us to enjoy. We have already put down about 15 lbs! Such good rice, but I digress...
I was left with about 25 pounds of medium grain that we weren't too fond of eating-too sticky for our/my palates. It was put to great use in our rice box along with some wild grains for fun. Here is that ricebox being put to full use by the girls and Baby Cat.

Laundry procrastination

Nothing like Renee to find the comfiest spot to help me put off my chores.
